
Dr. Angela Axelrod is a licensed psychologist with over 20 years of experience in child and educational psychology. Dr. Axelrod earned her Ph.D. in School Psychology from Indiana University. She completed her internship at the Loess Hills AEA in Iowa and began her career in public schools in the Omaha, Nebraska and Eau Claire Wisconsin areas, where she served as a school psychologist and pupil services director from 2002 to 2022. In 2014, she founded Axelrod Psychological Services with a vision to provide families with expert, individualized assessment outside of the school setting. Dr. Axelrod currently serves as a faculty member in the School Psychology graduate program at the University of Wisconsin–Stout. She approaches her work through a scientist-practitioner model, blending research-based methods with clinical expertise to deliver thorough, meaningful evaluations. Dr. Axelrod has a deep commitment to helping clients and their families find clarity and direction following a diagnosis of dyslexia, ADHD, or other learning disabilities.

Dr. Mike Axelrod possesses over three decades of experience in providing psychological care across a diverse range of issues and settings. His professional journey began as a school counselor, where he engaged in
individual and group therapy with elementary school students. Dr. Axelrod earned his Ph.D. in School Psychology from Indiana University. He completed his predoctoral internship in professional psychology
and postdoctoral fellowship in child/adolescent psychology, psychotherapy, and behavioral pediatrics at Father Flanagan’s Girls and Boys Town in Omaha, Nebraska. Subsequently, Dr. Axelrod held clinical
appointments at Boys Town National Research Hospital in Omaha and the Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Maine. In 2008, he relocated to Eau Claire, where he has served as the Director of the Human Development Center and Professor of Psychology at UWEC. Dr. Axelrod has written five books that explore child and adolescent development, science-informed psychological interventions, and school psychology. He has also authored over 30 book chapters and professional papers and has presented nationally and internationally on clinical, pediatric, and school psychology topics.
